Bean Weatherford grew up in the woods and farmlands of Pittsylvania County, outside of Danville, VA. Growing up on a former tobacco farm with grandparents and parents constantly gardening Bean learned early on where real food came from and the hard work behind every vegetable. After moving to Richmond to attend VCU, Bean fell in love with the City of Richmond and its people. Bean is a passionate musician and being a part of the Richmond music scene over the years has been a joy. In 2010 Bean moved to California where he learned to surf and worked as a Rec Leader/Summer Camp Manager for San Francisco Rec and Parks, both experiences reignited a love of the great outdoors. After returning to Richmond 2 years ago, Bean is excited to find an organization that will help Richmond become a healthier city, one convenience store at a time.

What do you do when you’re not working for Tricycle?
I’m writing songs for, singing, and playing guitar with his two rock n roll bands: The You Go Girls and Deathbirds Surf Club (catch them in a local venue near you!); heading to Virginia Beach to surf, skateboarding with friends around town, and riding his motorcycle to secret river spots.
